i am in love with this antique french oak from exquisite surfaces. so pretty...
i have a craving for a black velvet so i am reminiscing about the g. the black velvet is a mix of guinness and champagne, it was invented in london when prince albert died so that even the champagne would be in mourning. we stayed at the g on our honeymoon, sitting by the peat fire in the dove gray lounge with a black velvet is a most lovely afternoon. the silk velvet on the upholstery is incredible.
i also recommend irish breakfast in the pink room!
oh, and the spa is ridiculous! and i really don't usually like them...
i was running through the espasso showroom for work recently and fell in love with this vintage oscar niemeyer ottoman... i love how it is modern and yet the leather is worn and organic. espasso has great vintage pieces as well has some really good stuff by contemporary brazilian designers.
i first read about this new exhibit at the getty in vogue a couple of months ago and i couldn't find any other info. i was so psyched to see the banner today as i was driving around town!
jean-baptiste oudry painted enormous life sized animal portraits from the zoo of louis xv, how cool is that! it is ridiculous that i have lived in la for over 6 years and have never been to the getty, now i am really going to go...
i am obsessed with this short film from hermes. it is pretty much my fantasy, wilderness with random bits of luxury... it's why i brought all my sarongs and peter thomas roth sunscreen to africa!

i love these dishes that my godmother makes. they are so fun! i was so lucky to get a whole bunch of them for my wedding. now you can be lucky also, and get them here...
i want a yurt!!! well, i want a piece of land in the desert, a wee house and a yurt! i am psyched for my trip to el capitan this weekend to check out their yurt in person.

i am really excited to see alika cooper's work at the garage gallery this weekend! i love her portraits of classic actresses. the style of the gouache on paper is old fashioned in such a nice way, like something you would be so lucky to score in an antique shop or at a tag sale...
