how amazing is hotel basico in playa del carmen.  i am now even more serious about skipping the holidays this year and heading to mexico!

flocks in kyrgyzstan

i have long been a fan of christien meindertsma and flocks.  (the sweaters with sheep identity cards are brilliant.) 
these pics of a yarn investigating trip to kyrgyzstan are so cool..I have long been dreaming of a textile tour to that part of the world.  i want to have that same car and pile it high with my finds!  i would also love to have one of flocks amazing poofs!

biblio chair

i was reminded of this chair by the nytimes coverage of maison et objet. it would be so fun to pick the books to fill it! designed by nobody & co, the collaboration of a art director and a copy editor "who have decided to venture in the coloured, substantial and three dimensional world of design." how great would it be in a lobby?

free city bikes

this bike from free city would be such a great christmas present!   if only i had more places to ride.  I have a sad vision of this awesome bike sitting in the driveway next to my knitting machine and old paint cans.

african baskets

i love these african baskets.  my favorites are made in kwazulu natal, south africa.  the colors are so beautiful, and are achieved with natural dyes!  i would love a bunch of them on a table.

les indiennes

les indiennes was the subject of one of my first posts and in this crazy shifting design world i still feel the same way about mary mulcahy's beautiful hand blocked textiles. 
check out their new online inspirational flip book!  the over size dots are brilliant...

i am so excited they are now producing wallpaper!  the scale is great.

newsweek

i love design, but sometimes working in interior design can be trying...  which is why friday evening saw me  leaving the rite aid with as much beer as i could carry and a newsweek on healing the world.
i think this photograph is so beautiful, i love wax prints.
i am really trying to think of a design service project, any thoughts?

desk lamp

i love this desk lamp!  it does not work in my lifestyle at all, but if i had a little desk tucked in a corner that was only for paying bills and writing notes i would be all over it!  not such a bad price for 1st dibs...buying vintage really is the ultimate green design.
